Our roots

Laurelle Birk

Laurelle is a flower farmer, florist and artist. She cares deeply about nature and our place in it. She finds being in nature the best inspiration for her floral arrangements and art creations.

In the summer months, she grows flowers in a school garden and urban farm in Canmore, Alberta. Her flowers can be spotted at local cafes and hotels and at the weekly summer markets in Banff, Canmore and Calgary, AB. She also creates flower arrangements for local weddings in the summer months.

Her art is inspired by spending time amongst the wildness of nature. She currently offers a line of floral watercolor and pressed flower cards and prints, which you can currently find at Mountain Mercato and Project A in Canmore, AB.

She also has developed a floral line of acrylic painted wooden jewelry made from organic fruit tree branches and a floral embroidered jewlery line stitched on organic and fair-trade linen.  You will be able to find these at the Banff Mountain Market and Calgary’s cSPACE Market from May - October.

When she is not in the garden you can find her tucked away painting in a room with good light or getting lost somewhere in the mountains.
